"Come to me, my child. I'm here. Always."
Our Father

PLHers rocked out @ 9:45:00 PM!

We cry out, Abba Father.

The post today is especially for a particular someone, a sibling in Christ.

She gives me a warm squishy feeling inside.
Take time to listen to this child of God.

Are you still?
Be still, for God is faithful.
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippines 4:7
Ask our dearest Father today, tomorrow and forever more, to help you offer up all your burdens to Him, for He is awaiting for your call.

So we cry out Your Name, El Shad-dai, God of grace.

A chain prayer ( for us, for them, for all)

If you have the time now, let's say this prayer together.

"Dear Lord, I thank you for this day, I thank you for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I am blessed because you are a forgiving God and an understanding God.

You had done so much for me and you keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.

Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from you.

Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me know whine or whimper over things I have no control over. And give me the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart.

Continue to use me to do your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.

Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep my uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.

I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way.

I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood.

I pray for those who don't know you intimately.

I pray for those that don't believe, but I thank you that I believe that God changes people and God change things.

I pray for all my sisters and brothers and for each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes; that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in your hands for you to fight.

I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every person who reads them in Jesus' name. Amen."

Special thanks to my ex-classmate, Samantha.

The more i seek You

Dearest,
just thought i should share this beautiful song i came across a year back with all of you, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. This is my personal favourite. When times are rough for me, i'll always plug in and move my thumb till the song plays on my ipod. I'll put it on repeat, letting it play over and over again. Then, i'll take this time to pray, to cry, to reflect and sometimes get away from everything.

Here are the words: reflect on it, mediate over it. make this your prayer.

The more i seek you,
the more i find you
The more i find you, the more I love you

I wanna sit at your feet
drink from the cup in your hand.
Lay back against you and breath, here your heart beat
This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace, it's overwhelming
.

About my week O_O

Hey all! :D

Not really sure what sort of stuff I should be blogging about so... I shall just write about my week :)
Ugh... this week has been pretty crabby for me... getting back June Common test results and realising that I kinda failed almost everything... haha... :P Well, anyway... I told my parents (as any good girl should do. heheheh...) and my Mom insisted that I drop some of my service in church. I dunno, but I felt a little horrible when she said that... Her story was that she put God before her studies when she was my age, and now she's regretting it... which is really sad... but anyway... she doesn't want me to follow her footsteps. And she told me to go think about it, to go pray about it... She said that I should act in preparation of my future (or something of the like) and... that if God gave me a vision that I am going to die soon so I should serve Him with all I've got now.... then I would have her blessing... :(

So I did pray about it... haha... I must've been really bothered about the whole situation that my feelings were written all over my face! Even my teacher came and asked me why I looked so stressed... :P And you know all those spiritual ups and downs that we sometimes have? Well, I was having a spiritual down at that point in time... so I was so glad when I felt God direct me to what I learnt during dg last week: hearing His voice and making hard decisions. I had learnt last week that God speaks to us through the bible. That should we be searching to hear His voice, most of the time we can find it in the bible. After all, it is HIS Word :D

I started trying to recall the stories and parables that I had read before... and wondering if there was any bible person that ever put other things before serving God and yet earned His approval... Perhaps it's because I haven't read the bible sufficiently that I couldn't think of anyone... Instead I thought about Jesus' parable of the rich fool... The Fool was so busy accumulating earthly riches and planning what he might be able to spend them on. In a way it was exactly like me should I decide to stop serving God (even if I were to give the excuse that I'm gonna come back to serve when I'm better off), just so that I can focus on my studies! Then I would become your "mordern-day study fool" ... haha...

I told my Mom my decision, and (Halelujah! Thank You LORD! :D :D :D ) she didn't kill me or anything! *Grinzzz* She was still really skeptical, though... But I don't blame her... I don't think Satan actually wants to let any Christian off so easily so she must've gone through a lot...

"I really don't want you to end up like me," she had said ,"Unless you have a vision that God's going to be with you when you are serving Him, I still feel that you should rethink your decision..."

"But He said that He would, in the Bible. I don't need a vision because didn't He say that He will always be with us?"

Hmmm... Then we both kept quiet for a while.

"Anyway... I think you did the right thing back in JC... Spending your time to sing for God and stuff..." Heheh ... I guess that brightened her up, cos her family (who are non-christians) used to say that she was foolish to allow herself to be blinded with faith and that she had wasted her time... But, hey, the wisdom of God is foolishness to to world, right?

Yups...so... looks like i shall be following my dear Mommy's footsteps... :P
(minus the regretting part of course... haha... I hope :P )

In the Bible, it is stated clearly that there is resurrection of the dead. Hence, there shall be resurrection of this blog =P Youth Comm, take note!

Anyway, since we're doing prayer as a general topic for DBS, let's talk about prayer here =)

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." John 14 : 13-14

These words of Jesus open up the grounds for us to understand what we can ask of God. It tells us to ask in Jesus' name, so that He may bring glory to God. That means asking according to God's will, and making sure that God is glorified by the things we ask for. Following which, Jesus says clearly that He will do whatever we ask, a given it is glorifying to God.

"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." John 15 : 7-8

And again Jesus says that everything is to God's glory, and the fruit (growth, good works, gifts etc.) that we show is ultimately a testament to the fact that we are God's disciples. Jesus also says that as we pray, the Word of God must remain in us such that our prayers are in line with God's will. This should be a really good incentive for everyone of us to do our daily quiet time =) Imagine that! Perfectly answered prayers as long as our heart is set right according to God's will.

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5 : 16

So we are called not just to pray for ourselves, but to make intercession for our fellow brothers and sisters too. Let's make an effort to remember at least 1 other person in our daily prayers, shall we? Everyone needs healing or support in some way or the other, and it says here in James that our prayers are perfectly capable of doing so, to the praise of His glory.

Think About It

PLHers!

Prinsep Lighthouse (PLH) is the youth ministry of Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church. It’s meant for all youths aged 13-18 years old to come together every Sunday for a fellowship as well as to worship God and learn more about Him.PLH is on every Sunday from 11am to 12.45pm. On usual Sundays, we have worship time from 11-11.30am. During worship, we sing songs of praise to God.

After which the youths will break up into their respective groups to do a Bible Study for the rest of the time there. These Bible Studies are led by Mentors, who are really nice and fun people and are very knowledgeable and helpful as well. While doing Bible Studies, we share about our life too! Our joy, our pride, our problems, our challenges..and through this, we make loads of great friends!!
