I hope my posts aren't too heavy, if they are please tag and I'll do something about it. Anyway, heres another quotation from a book I'm reading. Though this is directed more toward sad or depressed people, I do hope the happy people can learn something from this too.

"Although how you esteem yourself may rise and fall, what you're really worth never changes."

How we view ourself and what we're worth does change as we walk through life. We see ourselves from different perspectives when we're happy, sad, angry, envious, depressed, the list goes on. But really, what we're truly worth to God can never change.

Look back to John 3:16 and 17, which says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." Note that it says "For God so LOVED the world", not that God had to do it or anything, but rather because he loved (and still loves) us. And if he loves us, we must be worth something, right? And because we, as his children, are worth so much to him, he sent Jesus to die on the cross for us so that we might be saved.

To put things into perspective, would you sacrifice your (because no one should have a son yet) life to save something that isn't of utmost worth to you? Though 'worth' cannot be quantified, we know that we were worth enough for God to send Jesus to die for us so that we might be saved. Because of this, it no longer matters what the world thinks of you, because God has already shown you how much you're truly worth. So when you feel depressed or let down, or when people tell you you're a failure (I hope no one has seriously done this), feel good about yourself because you know how much you're worth to God, which is what really matters.

Think About It

PLHers!

Prinsep Lighthouse (PLH) is the youth ministry of Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church. It’s meant for all youths aged 13-18 years old to come together every Sunday for a fellowship as well as to worship God and learn more about Him.PLH is on every Sunday from 11am to 12.45pm. On usual Sundays, we have worship time from 11-11.30am. During worship, we sing songs of praise to God.

After which the youths will break up into their respective groups to do a Bible Study for the rest of the time there. These Bible Studies are led by Mentors, who are really nice and fun people and are very knowledgeable and helpful as well. While doing Bible Studies, we share about our life too! Our joy, our pride, our problems, our challenges..and through this, we make loads of great friends!!
