Verse for the Week

John 10:10b - "....I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full"

Or in another version - "..that they might have it (life) abundantly"

God's plan for us is to live life to the fullest, to live the abundant life. Now, the abundant life is NOT the "health and wealth" gospel - that we'll be rich and everything will go smoothly etc.. - I believe Jesus' teaching on this is very clear. In fact, in many parts of Scriptures we are warned that we should be prepared to suffer for Christ's sake (Rom 8:17,18), to be misunderstood and even persecuted (John 15:20).

In summary of last Sunday's TeenTalk, living the abundant life is a life lived :

(a) in faith (Gal 2:20)
(b) for a higher calling (Eph 4:1)
(c) with hope (Col 3:4)
(d) in holiness (1Thess 4:7)
(e) in service of others (1Tim 6:18,19)

My prayer for all PLHers, is that you'll be confident in life because of who you are in Christ, that you'll be enthusiastic and positive about life because God's plan and will for your lives is the best - it's perfect, that you'll find meaning and purpose in life as you live it in a manner worthy of your calling, in worship of our heavenly Father and in service to others.

Enjoy life, live it to the fullest, and take 'boring' 'nothing to do' out of your vocab!! God wants you to live the abundant life!!

Prinsep Lighthouse (PLH) is the youth ministry of Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church. It’s meant for all youths aged 13-18 years old to come together every Sunday for a fellowship as well as to worship God and learn more about Him.PLH is on every Sunday from 11am to 12.45pm. On usual Sundays, we have worship time from 11-11.30am. During worship, we sing songs of praise to God.

After which the youths will break up into their respective groups to do a Bible Study for the rest of the time there. These Bible Studies are led by Mentors, who are really nice and fun people and are very knowledgeable and helpful as well. While doing Bible Studies, we share about our life too! Our joy, our pride, our problems, our challenges..and through this, we make loads of great friends!!
